Our family was finally united at the soccer match we had anticipated for months... and the results on the pitch were less than we hoped. Visiting Japan carved up the U.S. during this international friendly between U-17 squads. In fact, these four soccer observers left their inaugural visit to the beautifully designed CPKC Stadium with no doubt that one side was superior... and it wasn't our beloved red, white, and blue. An overcast and cool (but not cold) day to watch soccer, featuring one of the all-time greats, Megan Rapinoe... Dynamite!!! Three NWSL matches... three times we were forced to watch the Chicago Red Stars... With our daughter's and Elizabeth's favorite soccer player of all time (Megan Rapinoe) playing and our growing disdain for the Red Stars, we were locked in as OL Reign fans from the start. Ah... an excellent use for an American football stadium... a fútbol match! After taking in the Menace match, we were left wondering why it took us so long to attend. The side was founded in 1994 and has won two championships since, and the supporters are as fervent as any we have encountered thus far.
